  • Dr. Sandra Belfry, Clinical Neuropsychologist

    Dr. Belfry is a licensed Clinical Neuropsychologist and Psychologist in Ontario with specializations in working with adults, seniors and couples. She received her Ph.D. from the University of Toronto and she also has a diploma in Art Therapy from the University of Western Ontario. She completed her doctoral internship in Adult and Geriatric Neuropsychological Assessment and Treatment at Baycrest Hospital, and later was a Post-Doctoral Fellowship there with the Memory Link program; focusing on helping people with severe memory disorders to function in everyday tasks. Dr. Belfry has a particular interest in supporting individuals going through the life transitions of adulthood and various health changes associated with difficult medical conditions. She has undergone specialized training in Interpersonal Therapy (IPT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Solution Focused Therapy(SFT) interventions and uses an integrative and individualized approach to psychotherapy with a focus on coping and improving quality of life. Early in her career, Dr. Belfry developed specialized programs to improve the quality of life for seniors with mental health and neurodegenerative conditions residing in the City of Toronto’s Homes for the Aged.

    Currently, Dr. Belfry provides psychological services for adults, couples and seniors. She is the Director of Clinical Services for the Lifespan Healthy Aging & Dementia Clinic which addresses community-based referrals regarding specialized psychological service needs for memory and mental health changes in seniors. Additionally, she is the Director of Clinical Services for the Lifespan Women’s Menopause and Brain Health Clinic which provides psychological services to address mental health changes and cognition concerns during perimenopause and menopause. Dr. Belfry is a Director at large on the board(s) of directors for the Alzheimer Society of Brant Haldimand Norfolk Hamilton and Halton, Elder Abuse Prevention Ontario, and the Halton Elder Abuse Prevention Network.
